D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is a collaborative effort
between the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, the Daviess County Board
of Education, parents, and community leaders. D.A.R.E. teaches kids
how to recognize and resister the direct and subtle pressures that influence
them to experiment with alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and other drugs.
Daviess County’s D.A.R.E. officers teach a total of 19 schools including: 3 middle, 12 elementary, and 4 parochial. The sheriff’s department has two painted D.A.R.E. cruisers, which are also utilized as patrol unites when school is not in session.
